· 2-15 years experience · Bachelor’s degree · Accountabilities · Responsible for leading and developing proposal estimates and schedules for Database Administrators to meet customer requirements · Responsible for understanding the end users requirements for the database and planning the implementation of the database to handle their requirements · Architects and oversees consistent database design, installation, and configuration standards are applied across projects, for both internal and external customers to meet the requirements for development, test, and production environments · Responsible for the design, installation, testing and maintenance of Oracle databases in a RAC or standalone configuration for development, Labs, and Production · Provides state of the art technical direction for the Oracle database design across multiple ATS projects. · Researches, designs and develops expert guidance to database administrators, programmers, and management staff for technical, global, cross-functional teams for Oracle expertise and best practices · Participates in the preparation of presentations to customers · Applies consistent database design and programming standards across projects, for both internal and external customers to meet requirements for development, test environments · Identifies development needs based on customer requirements and identifies gaps in current product · Responsible for technical aspects of a project (or several projects) for Database development design, integration, testing, documentation and maintenance of systems · Evaluate Oracle new features and determine if they can provide useful benefits to the database solutions · Intermediate knowledge of Database Development and Design · Skills & Experience · Minimum B.S degree in Computer Science or related discipline, 5-15 years of professional experience in Database Administration. · Proven experience with design, installation, testing and maintaining Oracle Databases in a RAC and Standalone configuration for development, Labs, and Production · Experience with Maria DB · Ability to develop upgrade plans and follow through on database upgrades for development, Labs, and Production · Advanced ability to configure and ensure backups are done on a regular basis. Test the restore strategy to verify the backups are valid. Document all steps that are needed and any additional processes that are required for development, Labs, and Production · Proven experience monitoring and tuning database performance, provide guidance with tuning application and queries · Advanced ability to plan for and manage database growth · Proven experience being On-Call providing 24×7 support for the production database and after-hours support of any critical development and testing · Proven experience performing database troubleshooting and working with Oracle Support for resolving issues with the databases as needed in development, Labs, and Production · Ability to take end users requirements for the database and plan the implementation of the database to handle their requirements · Advanced ability creating, modifying, and maintaining database objects and storage · Advanced ability creating and managing security and user access to the databases · Proven ability to evaluate Oracles features and determine if they can provide useful benefits to the applications · Intermediate knowledge of designing an application in both a RAC and Standalone database environment · Intermediate knowledge of Oracle Database and Programming features · Intermediate ability to design and code the database applications based on the requirements provided · Proven experience designing any additional database structures that are required for the application · Basic understanding of tuning any queries and application logic prior to releasing code · Ability to document any programs with the appropriate requirements, design, users, and testing documentation · Intermediate ability to test all applications to verify all requirements are met · Ability to participate in code reviews for junior database programmers · Proven experience providing support for any critical development and testing · Experience at understanding the end users requirements for the database and planning the implementation of the database development to handle their requirements · Proven experience performing program troubleshooting and working with Oracle Support for resolving issues with the applications as needed in development, Labs · Intermediate understanding of database objects and storage · Intermediate understanding of database security and user access
